I have not had many experiences with technology in the classroom. I was in a classroom where all the kids had their own iPads but it was mostly used as a reward for the students. Other than that I have not had much experience planning or using technology in the classroom.
Last semester I completed my teacher assisting in the Grand Haven school district, I was placed in an elementary. This semester I will also be in Grand Haven but I will be in the High School. This placement will be a big change for me because I have not been in a high school since I graduated but I am excited to embrace the challenge.

ReplyDeleteI am excited to work with you again this semester. I did not know you loved being on the water. Where do you usually go when you ski, tube, fish, etc? My family loves Pentwater Lake and Silver Lake. You should check them out if you get the chance. But to be fair, I am a little biased. My grandpa grew up on Pentwater Lake, and his dad (so my great grandpa) built a cabin by hand on the lake when he sold the house my grandpa grew up in. It has been renovated, but my family still uses the cabin.
How did your first week of teaching in a high school go? I am also placed in a high school this semester, and I was shocked by how much the students wanted to talk to me about their lives. Did you have the same experience?

ReplyDeleteHello Taren :) Yes I love being on the water, my family has 2 cabins on Houghton Lake and my parents own a boat. I will have to check out those two lakes, my boyfriend is always looking for new lakes to fish on.
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience on my first day in a high school, a couple of the students just wanted to come sit and talk, which was really cool. I forgot how overwhelming high school can be and I'm excited and nervous to student teach in a high school. I hope we both have a great experience this semester! :)
